January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

It is a disease that can proceed without symptoms in the early stages.

Prevention is therefore of fundamental importance.

🎗️The most common cause is HPV (human papillomavirus) – a carcinogenic virus in both sexes that causes cervical, vaginal, penile, or anal cancer. HPV also causes genital warts in both men and women.

🫶The good news is that HPV is the only carcinogenic virus for which effective prevention through vaccination exists. Vaccination is suitable for all age groups from 12 years old and for both sexes. Vaccination against HPV infection is provided by the Infectious Diseases Clinic at FN Nitra.

We vaccinate every Wednesday from 10:00 to 14:00.

We vaccinate:

  • youth aged 15–18 (accompanied by a legal guardian)
  • adults from 18 years of age
  • Children aged 9–18 can request vaccination from their pediatrician.
