Diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, venous and arterial occlusions, and other vascular changes in the retina, follow-up care of patients with diabetic retinopathy, indication of laser treatment of the retina, monitoring of macular edema in diabetic retinopathy and edema in venous occlusions. Indication and administration of treatment with anti-growth factors and corticosteroids applied into the vitreous (intravitreally).

Specialized examinations:

Fluorescein angiography (FAG): examination of the retina and retinal vessels using a contrast agent injected into the patient’s vein, followed by photography of the fundus

OCT examination of the macula: a non-invasive examination of the retinal layers in the macular area

Angio OCT of the macula: a non-invasive examination of the vascular wall of individual retinal layers in the macular area, used to monitor disorders of the retinal capillary network and the presence of neovascular membranes

Surgical procedures:

Laser photocoagulation of the retina: photodestruction of diseased retinal and choriocapillary tissue using an argon laser

Intravitreal drug administration: the drug is injected into the vitreous on an outpatient basis under local drop anesthesia.
