Geriatric Clinic

The Geriatric Clinic provides specialized healthcare for seniors, i.e., individuals over 65 years of age.

Comprehensive care is based on age-related changes in the body, multimorbidity, subsequent frailty, and the reduced adaptive capacity of the aging organism. It focuses primarily on diagnosis, treatment, assessment of the functional status and potential of seniors, and the social consequences of diseases, while working closely with social workers in the application of social gerontology and social geriatrics.

It modifies treatment and care for patients with advanced geriatric syndromes (immobility, incontinence, inanition, impaction), and provides long-term monitoring for patients with diabetes, post-stroke conditions, arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, urinary incontinence, cognitive disorders, malnutrition, stability issues and falls, psychosomatic disorders with adaptive failure, multimorbidity, and long-lived patients over 90 years of age.
